As you all know that according to new domicile law in Jammu and Kashmir, now everyone living in J&K since more that 15 years can now apply for a Domicile Certificate to avail the various benefits under UT J&K.

However, the process is much simple for those already having a PRC of J&K or what we call in general The State Subject. If you have your Permanent Resident Certificate of Jammu and Kashmir, then you will receive your certificate online itself, you are not required to visit any office for the same.

Steps On How To Apply For Domicile Certificate Online In J&K

To Apply for Domicile Jammu Online, you just need to follow our step by step guide. So let’s begin.

Step 1: To Register As J&K Citizen

This is the first step of How To Apply For Domicile Certificate Online, you need to visit JK Citizen Registration Site to register yourself as a Citizen of Jammu & Kashmir. The interface will be as shwn below.

Instructions to Register as J&K Citizen are as follow:

  • You will have to provide your basic details like Name, Address, etc.
  • You will have to upload a scanned passport size photograph of size between 30Kb to 50Kb.
  • Please ensure to remember or note your login id and password.
  • Use this login id and password to login at here.

Note: You can skip the citizen registration step if you have already registered and directly login using your existing login is and password.

Step 2: Login and Apply For Domicile Certificate

After you have successfully registered for Citizenship of J&K, then you need to login at jk.gov.in using the login id and password that you gotwhile registrationas Citizen.

How To Apply For Domicile Certificate Online

After successull login, you have to hover over to e-services and then General Administration Department.

Under General Administration Department, you have to click on Application for Domicile Certificate.

As you will click on Application for Domicile Certificate, a new application form for domicile will open up, you will have to fill the correct information in this form.

You will have to upload the scanned copy of relevent documents like PRC of J&K if already have.

After you have filled the information and uploaded the required documents, you have to click the preview button.

After preview of your Domicile Application, Click the submit button, so with this your process to apply for the Domicile Certificate is completed.

Document Requirements to Apply for Domicile Certificate In J&K

Now, as we already mentioned that the process is easy for those already having a PRC, so the document requirements for different category of people is different as given below.

The PRC holders will have to upload only their PRC Certificate while others will have to provide other documents as well like Ratio Card, Voter Card, etc.

The List of documents to be uploaded will be available on the application form of domicile while applying as mentioned in step 2.

How To Check Domicile Status Online

After you have successfully submitted the application for Domicile Certificate of Jammu & Kashmir, you have to visit again at https://jk.gov.in/jkeservices/ and login with your user id an dpassword.

When you login, now click on Application tab, then click on Check Status.
Enter the Application-Id  obtained while applying for the service to get the status of your online domicile application.

How To Download Domicile Certificate J&K

You will be able to confirm through checking the status that upto where your application has been processed.

Generally and as per the official statement by Jk government official, the application work will be completed and domicile will be uploaded within 15 days after the the submission of domicile application.

Now, to download the Domicile Certificate. You have to visit https://jk.gov.in/jkeservices and login. After that click on the eservices>General Administration Dept.>Download.

Enter your application number to download and print your domicile certificate.
